Classes, Groups & Activities
Women's Centre offers 2 yoga classes each week with a qualified instructor. These classes are open to all levels of experience and are currently free. Yin Yoga on Tuesdays 4-5pm and a more dynamic session on Thursdays 10-11.30am. Mats, cushions and blankets are available if you don't have your own. Please call for more information.
Free Blood Pressure Clinics:
On the last Monday of each month, starting 31st August 2020 from 1.30 - 2.30pm there will be a local GP, Vivian Law at the Centre facilitating blood pressure checks
Harakeke /Flax weaving workshops:
Wednesdays 12th August - 2nd September
Come along and spend the afternoon crafting with Harakeke ( Flax Weaving).
Make a small project to take home and inspire you towards greater things such
as some putiputi (flowers), bookmarks or a kete (Bag). Tea and coffee supplied
Koha (Small Donation) appreciated.
Knitting & Spinning:
We have a vibrant and fun-loving knitting group who meet on Thursday afternoons.
They also do spinning and crochet and the facilitators are happy to help any learners.
We have a small garden plot that produces a small variety of unsprayed seasonal vegetables and herbs. If you need some please call in and ask. If you'd like to help
with keeping the gardens producing please get in touch with us.
Our rooms are available for use by other community groups, counselors, therapists
and for family group conferences.
If you are interested in starting a craft or other interest group (cards, walking, gardening, scrabble mah jong etc) please give us a call and we'll gladly support in any way we can.
